Our Board Members are passionate business leaders who share a common ideal for the youth of Lebanon. It is thanks to their strategic direction and enthusiastic support that we have been able to achieve our successes to date.
Mr. Michel Fattal
Chairman, INJAZ Lebanon
Michel Fattal is the Senior Vice President of Fattal Group, a 4th generation family business headquartered in Lebanon specializing in the distribution of FMCG and healthcare products in the MENA region. Michel oversees the FMCG businesses outside Lebanon. He is also the Chairman of Assurex, a top-tier insurance and reinsurance company in Lebanon.
Michel strongly believes in entrepreneurship and work readiness education to address unemployment and build a brighter future for Lebanon’s youth. He is the Chairman of INJAZ Lebanon, and a member of the Young Presidents’ Organisation and has served as the CSR Officer on the MENA YPO board.
Ms. Asmahan Zein
Vice-Chair, INJAZ Lebanon
Asmahan Zein, Partner/General Manager at Infofort and CSR Representative for Aramex Lebanon, has over 46 years of experience in the airline, hotel management, transportation and logistics industry. Having worked for Aramex for 27 years she started Crypta sal. in 2014, in order to represent the InfoFort LLC. franchise.
Asmahan is adamant about helping effectively lead change in Lebanon. She is passionate about serving her community and building strong networks of support. In addition to being a member of the INJAZ Board of Directors, she is also currently the President of the LLWB Board, Vice Chair of Amideast Advisory Board, and Vice Chair of Ruwwad Al Tanmeya.
H.E Raymond Audi
Chairman, Bank Audi
H.E. Raymond Audi is a banker who, with his family, developed the centenarian family enterprise, Bank Audi (1962), of which he is currently Chairman of the Board.
Raymond is a patron of the arts. He has received 15 honourable distinctions since 1971, and he is very concerned with environmental issues and quality of life in Lebanon, dedicating a significant part of his time to bettering the country and preserving its heritage. In addition to being a Board Member at INJAZ Lebanon, he also engages with other institutions namely: UNICEF, UNDP, Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Help Lebanon
Mr. Raffi Demirjian
Chairman, Demirjian Global
Raffi Demirjian is the chairman of Demirjian Global, a leading international steel trading company.
In addition to being on the INJAZ Lebanon board, he is also the Regional Chair of Middle East and North Africa for the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and has served on the board of the Beirut Traders Association since 2002.
Mr. Basel Eltell
Levant Vice President, MasterCard Worldwide
Basel Eltell is the Market Manager for MasterCard Levant, managing all aspects of its government, public sector, and marketing initiatives. He has been instrumental in growing the regional MasterCard market share and footprint. Basel previously worked as the Senior Division Head for Sales at the Cards and Electronic Payments Department at the Emirates National Bank of Dubai, and was the Regional Director for MoneyGram in the Middle East and Indian Sub-Continent (1999–2005). He also held various positions with major financial services and banking.
Mr. Tony Haddad
General Manager at Technica International
Tony Haddad is currently the General Manager for Technica International, a leading manufacturer of conveyors and automation equipment for over 300 customers in 32 countries. He graduated from AUB in 1975 with a bachelor degree in electrical engineering and started his career as a maintenance engineer at Unipack - Indevco group, then as a project engineer.
After pursuing his MBA in 1982, he decided to leave Indevco to follow his dream of forming his own company. Technica started as a family owned business with 4 engineers and technicians reaching 33 years later a staff team of 170 employees over a built up a factory of 6500m2 in the industrial zone of Bickfaya.
Dr. Talal Jaber
Professor and Attorney, Jaber Law Firm
Dr. Talal Jaber is currently a lawyer and a managing partner at Jaber Law Firm, established in 1929. He is also a consultant and lecturer of Business Law, Business Ethics, and International Business Law at the American University of Beirut, Lebanese American University, La Sagesse University, and a guest lecturer at the University of Montpellier (France).
He is the author of four books and many articles that are used as reference in Law and Business programs in top tier Lebanese universities.
Mr. Kamal Katra
Deputy District Governor, Rotary Lebanon
Kamal Katra is the Deputy District Governor of Rotary International (Lebanon). Previously Kamal served as Vice President of Merrill Lynch International and worked in Merrill Lynch offices in Kuwait, Dubai, and Bahrain before becoming the Beirut Financial Consultant for the firm between 1984 and 1997. After that he assumed the position of Branch Operating Manager for Merill Lynch Lebanon.
Kamal is a founding member of INJAZ Lebanon and secretary of the board. In addition Kamal is also a founding member of the International Fellowship of Rotarian Scouts. He is also a Board Member of the Hiking Club du Vieux Sentier.
H.E Joseph Maalouf
Senior Partner, Beyond Consulting and Training
H.E Joseph Maalouf is the founding partner of the Canadian company, Effiqual / Designed Learning Canada, and of the sister Lebanese consulting firm, Beyond Consulting & Training.
Joseph engages the heart and mind at work. An engineer, a business man and a poet come together to invite people and organizations to invest in truly holistic learning experiences, which is why he is a Board Member of INJAZ Lebanon. Joseph has been a Member of the Lebanese Parliament since June 2009.
Ms. Melek Nemr
Founder and Director, Unite Lebanon Youth Project
Melek Nimer is the founder of Unite Lebanon Youth Project (ULYP), an NGO that works with youth and women from marginalized communities in Lebanon. She believes that holistic education is the best investment towards a brighter future for youth in Lebanon. In addition to being a Board Member of INJAZ Lebanon, she serves as a Board Member and Trustee of multiple non-profit and educational institutions, such as the American Community School at Beirut. She is also a founding member and President of the Lebanese Chapter of International Women's Forum.
Mr. Michel Sawaya
Director, Citibank Lebanon
Michel Sawaya has 20 years of banking experience having joined Citi Lebanon in October 1995. Through this time he had several roles in operations, audit, compliance product and client coverage; most, recently, he has the dual role as Head of Treasury & Trade Services and Head of Corporate Banking. As of February 2016, he was appointed as acting CCO for Citi Lebanon. Michel holds a Bachelor Degree in Sciences – Biology and a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, both from the American University of Beirut.
Mr. Peter Yeates
Chief Executive Officer, HSBC
Peter Yeates is the Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Lebanon. Peter joined the HSBC Group in London in 1983, and has since spent 14 years in Asia, 7 years in the USA, 6 years in Europe, and 5 years in the Middle East. His experience covers retail banking, corporate strategy, commercial banking and private banking.
