INJAZ Lebanon’s “Fifth Wheel” scoops Best Company Award at annual INJAZ Young Entrepreneurs Competition 2010

INJAZ Al Arab recently held its annual Young Entrepreneirs Competition 2010 in Marrakesh Morocco at which the Lebanese student company The Fifth Wheel was awarded the highest accolade of the evening, Best Company of the Year for its product Carmate.

“My team and I worked so hard to create this company and product over the past six months, with the coaching and mentorship of INJAZ volunteers” said 17 year old Gaelle Feghali, CEO of the Fifth Wheel. “The knowledge and skills that we have learnt will stay with us, and now we know that we can start up our business after we graduate.” The criteria on which the student companies were graded include their ability to demonstrate sound business acumen, financial knowledge, marketing support and feasibility studies. Students specnt three days showcasing their products, presenting to the public and had a private and quite rigorous Q&A session with the judges.

Dima el Khouri, CEO of INJAZ Lebanon commented: “This is indeed an honor for our students, it gives them the extra confidence that they can take the skills we teach them and go farther in life, no matter what direction they choose. I am extremely proud of these students, and I can’t wait to see what they will do next!"

Other winners included Yemeni student company Port Mokha for Best Marketing Campaign Egyptian student company Vintage Revolution for Best Innovative Product, and Palestinian student company Green for young Entrepreneur of the year.
