What do you know about nuts?

Bourak Omar for his trust in nuts' nutritious value, applied to one of the Generation of Innovation Leaders - GIL cycles with his Bakoba project. Want to know more about Bourak and Bakoba?

Well, nuts have it all! Nuts are "rich in energy, protein, packed with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and much discussed omega-3 fatty acids... [they are] crunchy yet buttery." They are "bad-cholesterol-fighting superheroes."

Bourak Omar for his trust in nut's nutritious value, applied to one of the Generation of Innovation Leaders - #GIL cycles with his Bakoba project. GIL is a project conducted by INJAZ Lebanon through the support of UNICEF Lebanon and the funding of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Lebanon and the German Embassy.

Bakoba first started as nuts and butter making project. Butter all extracted and mixed with the most nutritious of walnuts, hazelnuts, peanuts, almonds, and pistachio. While sitting with Bourak to better understand his concept, he told us
"the incubation [with GIL] was integral as the whole concept of my project changed. I started with the idea of nuts' butter making and now arrived at energy bars manufacturing. The shift was made as I started studying whether the product I intend to sell can be commercialized, and in case it was, will it be able to cover it costs and return some profit? So the incubation redirected me and my product to better enter the market."

Digging more into the benefits Bourak extracted from his participation in the GIL entrepreneurship trainings, he added "the sessions were so important because in general, even if you got the financial resources, if you don't know how to do a business plan, you cannot put things to action and work it well. So the idea that our mentor precisely explained to us was how to do a business plan, where to focus, and how to tap on the factors that affect the success of a project."

After undertaking the GIL trainings and being almost halfway with the incubation, Bakoba is few steps away from entering the market. With its 3 flavors of energy bars; almond and dates, almonds and apricot, and four types of seeds, Bakboa is definitely worth a try!
