Turning Challenges into Innovation: Neuromove Shines at Youth Entrepreneurship Celebration (YEC 2025)

Lebanese students from Wadi Al Azhar High School in Rashaya made their mark at YEC 2025 in Cairo, winning two innovation awards. What started as a school observation turned into an inspiring solution and a story you don’t want to miss.

At Wadi Al Azhar High School in Rashaya, a group of 22 students noticed something that would change the course of their school year – and beyond. They saw a fellow student struggling with mobility, navigating the school corridors in a manual wheelchair. For most, this might have been just another daily challenge. For these students, it became an opportunity.

Under the guidance of INJAZ Lebanon’s Company Program, the team came together to tackle the problem head-on. Inspired by the idea that technology should care, not just assist, they designed and built Neuromove: a DIY conversion kit that transforms any manual wheelchair into a smart, safe, and affordable mobility system.

The device, entirely designed, built, and tested locally, comes packed with features like SOS alerts, GPS tracking, voice and joystick control, fall detection, and smart notifications, giving individuals with disabilities more independence and confidence in their daily lives.

When Neuromove won the national competition and reached the Youth Entrepreneurship Celebration (YEC 2025) in Cairo, the regional finale of INJAZ Al-Arab’s Company Program, they were ready to showcase their solution on a bigger stage. Representing Lebanon among top student innovators from 12 countries in the MENA region, the team, led by Hind Yazbek (CEO), Lea Al Sahili (CFO), and Razan Serhal (Project Manager), pitched their project with creativity, empathy, and a clear purpose.

The result? Two regional innovation awards for the high school track: the Innovative Venture Award and the Boeing Innovation Booth Award.

For Hind, the journey was as impactful as the recognition.

This journey has been one of the best experiences ever! From learning, working as a team, and representing Lebanon in Egypt, every moment was special. Winning feels unreal – it made all the hard work worth it. I couldn’t have done it without my team, our school, INJAZ Lebanon, and everyone who supported us along the way. I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity and proud to have made Lebanon shine!

The team isn’t stopping there. Neuromove is now exploring collaborations to refine their prototype and prepare for market launch, taking their first steps toward transforming independence through smart mobility into a reality for more people.

Every year, over a hundred Lebanese students join INJAZ Lebanon’s Company Program, a hands-on experience where they identify real challenges, build solutions, and turn ideas into impact.

Whether you’re a high school or university student, or an educator interested in bringing the program to your school, this is your chance to learn, create, and innovate:
