Ali Kanjo, from Computer Science to Agriculture

"I never thought I'd have my own business. I always thought that a business owner must have lots of money, and many employees working for him." That was what Ali Kanjo believed in before he joined The Generation of Innovation Leaders.

"I never thought I'd have my own business. I always thought that a business owner must have lots of money, and many employees working for him." That was what Ali Kanjo believed in before he joined The Generation of Innovation Leaders.

Born in the northern rural area of Lebanon - #Akkar, Ali studied Computer Science, but his passion for agriculture had been instilled in him since he was a kid. "Working in agriculture is hereditary, it was passed on to me from my grandfather and father", Ali said.

His passion for this field and his eagerness to learn and to constantly improve himself pushed him to participate in the #GIL programme which was a stepping stone for him to start his new business in agriculture.

Watch Ali telling his story in this video from the land of his dreams in Akkar. #GIL is a pogramme powered by UNICEF Lebanon and funded thanks to Netherlands Embassy Beirut and the German Embassy Beirut
